Noah Kahan

Noah Kahan is an American singer-songwriter from Strafford, Vermont, whose music blends indie folk, pop, and Americana influences with candid, introspective lyrics about mental health, small-town life, and growing up. He began sharing songs online as a teenager, which led to a deal with Republic Records and the release of his debut EP Hurt Somebody in 2018, followed by his debut album Busyhead in 2019, an early exploration of self-doubt and anxiety set against warm, folk-pop production.

During the pandemic Kahan leaned further into an acoustic, stripped-back sound with the Cape Elizabeth EP, foreshadowing the direction of his breakthrough record. His 2022 album Stick Season marked a major turning point, rooted heavily in his rural New England upbringing and delivered with a raw emotional honesty that resonated widely, particularly after its title track went viral online. The record's blend of banjo-driven folk instrumentation with pop songwriting sensibilities helped position him within a wave of artists bridging folk and mainstream pop.

Songs like «Stick Season», «Homesick», and «Dial Drunk» broadened his audience well beyond typical singer-songwriter circles, and his live shows became known for their communal, cathartic energy.
