Nicky Jam

Nicky Jam is a reggaeton and Latin urban singer-songwriter born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, who first made his mark in the early 2000s scene through features on Daddy Yankee tracks like «Entre Sábanas Blancas» and «Guayando». His early career established him as part of the foundational generation of reggaeton alongside artists who shaped the genre's rise from Puerto Rico outward.

His career was interrupted for years by struggles with addiction and a split from his mentor Daddy Yankee, but Nicky Jam staged a major comeback, culminating in his 2017 album «Fénix», his first full-length release in a decade. That comeback era produced some of his biggest hits, including «El Perdón» with Enrique Iglesias, which won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Urban Fusion/Performance in 2015, and «Hasta el Amanecer», a signature reggaeton ballad that became one of his most recognized songs.

Nicky Jam has also built a close and prolific partnership with J Balvin, and their collaboration «X (EQUIS)» crossed over onto the Billboard Hot 100 in 2018, cementing his place among the artists who brought reggaeton to mainstream global audiences. His sound blends melodic reggaeton with pop and electronic elements, reflecting both his roots in the genre's golden era and his adaptation to its more polished, radio-friendly modern form.
