NCT DREAM

NCT DREAM is a South Korean-Chinese boy group under SM Entertainment, one of the sub-units of the larger NCT project. The group debuted in 2016 with the digital single «Chewing Gum» and originally operated on an age-based system where members «graduated» upon turning 20. In April 2020, this system was scrapped in favor of a fixed, rotational unit built around the original seven members: Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung, with Mark rejoining after his earlier graduation.

Sonically, NCT DREAM leans into bright, youthful pop with strong hip-hop and R&B accents, though their sound matured considerably as the members grew older, incorporating more polished production and emotionally layered songwriting. Their 2021 debut studio album, «Hot Sauce», marked a turning point commercially and became one of the best-selling releases in South Korea, while later work such as «맛 (Hot Sauce)», «Broken Melodies», and «오르골 (Life Is Still Going On)» showcased a broader stylistic range spanning upbeat dance tracks to introspective ballad-adjacent material.

As part of the wider NCT ecosystem, NCT DREAM shares personnel and creative DNA with sister units NCT 127 and NCT U, but has carved out its own identity built around its evolving lineup story and a fanbase that has followed the members from teenage debut into adulthood. The group remains one of SM Entertainment's most commercially successful acts of the 2020s.
