Namika

Namika, born Hanan Hamdi in 1991 in Frankfurt, Germany, is a German pop singer of Moroccan descent, her family's roots tracing back to the coastal city of Nador. That dual heritage — growing up in Germany while staying connected to Moroccan and Arabic culture — became a defining feature of her music and image, most famously expressed through the multilingual mixing of German and French in her breakout single «Lieblingsmensch».

Her sound sits within German pop with strong rap and R&B influences, built on catchy, radio-friendly hooks and a conversational, diary-like lyrical style that made her relatable to a mainstream young audience. «Lieblingsmensch» became a major hit and introduced her national profile, followed by «Je ne parle pas français», a song built around the playful contrast between German verses and a French-language hook that became one of her signature tracks and helped extend her popularity beyond Germany into French-speaking markets.
