M.Y.M.P. is a Filipino band formed in 1995 by Chin Alcantara, who named the group as a tribute to his late mother. The band remained largely under the radar until being discovered by Raymund Ryan Santes, a station manager at the local radio station 93.9 iFM, which led to a recording contract with Ivory Music. Their sound centers on soulful, acoustic-driven pop ballads with strong R&B influence, delivered through smooth, emotive vocal performances.

Across five studio albums — «Soulful Acoustic», «Beyond Acoustic», «Versions», «New Horizon», and «Now» — plus a live release, «Live at the Music Museum», M.Y.M.P. built a devoted following in the Philippines through hits like «Tell Me Where It Hurts» and «Kailan». Their stripped-down, acoustic pop covers and originals resonated strongly with local audiences seeking heartfelt, ballad-driven music in the mid-2000s.

A defining trait of M.Y.M.P. is its rotating lineup of lead female vocalists alongside constant member Chin Alcantara, with singers including Nina, Juris Fernandez, and Jana Laraza having fronted the group at different points, and Carmela Ravanilla currently serving as lead vocalist. This continuity of sound despite changing voices has helped the band maintain its identity as one of the Philippines' most enduring acoustic pop acts.
