MKTO

MKTO is an American pop duo formed by Malcolm Kelley and Tony Oller, whose name is derived from the first letters of their surnames. Both members came from acting backgrounds — Kelley appeared on the television series «Lost» and Oller had a career in Disney and Nickelodeon productions — before turning to music together in the early 2010s. Their sound blends radio-friendly pop with rap-inflected verses and electronic production, giving them crossover appeal with both pop and hip-hop audiences.

The duo signed to Columbia Records and released their self-titled debut album in January 2014, led by the breakout single «Classic», which became a staple of youth-oriented pop radio. Follow-up singles such as «Thank You» and «God Only Knows» (later reworked into «American Dream») built on that momentum, while the «Bad Girls EP» in 2015 expanded their catalogue with tracks including «Bad Girls» and «Monaco».

After a run of singles in 2016 and a subsequent hiatus, MKTO returned in 2018 with «How Can I Forget», showing their continued ability to write hooky, upbeat pop songs. Their music is often noted for its optimistic tone and accessible melodies aimed at a young fanbase.
