Miranda Cosgrove

Miranda Cosgrove is an American actress and singer born in Los Angeles and raised in Southern California. She began working as a child model and commercial actress before landing film and television roles, most notably as Megan Parker on «Drake & Josh» and later as the title character in the Nickelodeon sitcom «iCarly». The show made her one of the most recognizable teen stars of the late 2000s and gave her a platform to launch a parallel music career.

Cosgrove’s recording career grew directly out of her television work: she contributed songs to the «iCarly» soundtrack, including the theme «Leave It All to Me», before signing with Columbia Records and releasing her debut studio album, «Sparks Fly», in 2010. The record leaned into polished teen-pop with rock and R&B touches, producing singles such as «About You Now» and «Kissin U», which found airplay on pop and Radio Disney-adjacent stations. A follow-up EP, «High Maintenance», continued in a similar bubblegum-pop direction.

Her sound favors bright, hook-driven pop production typical of the Disney/Nickelodeon star era, occasionally brushing against country and R&B influences on individual tracks. While her music career slowed as she shifted focus back toward acting, songs like «Dancing Crazy» and «Shakespeare» remain fan favorites and are often remembered as emblematic of the 2010–2011 teen-pop wave.
