Milky Chance

Milky Chance are a German trio from Kassel formed around the songwriting duo of Clemens Rehbein and Philipp Dausch, later joined by Antonio Greger on harmonica and additional production. Their sound blends acoustic folk guitar with reggae-inflected rhythms and electronic beats, a combination that felt fresh when their debut single «Stolen Dance» became a sleeper hit across Europe and the US in the early 2010s.

That single anchored their 2013 debut album Sadnecessary, which turned the group from a bedroom project into an international touring act almost overnight. The record's mix of dub basslines, folk instrumentation and dance-pop hooks gave Milky Chance a distinct identity within the wider indie-folk revival of the period, standing apart from purely acoustic singer-songwriter acts.

Their 2017 follow-up Blossom pushed further into electronic and pop territory while keeping the acoustic core intact, featuring tracks like «Cocoon» and «Firebird». Songs such as «Down by the River» and «Flashed Junk Mind» further cemented their reputation for warm, danceable songwriting, and the band has continued to tour extensively while experimenting with collaborations across pop and electronic scenes.
