About the artist
Miike Snow is a Swedish indie pop project built around producing duo Bloodshy & Avant — Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg — together with American singer-songwriter Andrew Wyatt. Formed in Stockholm in 2007, the trio arrived with serious pedigree: Karlsson and Winnberg had already made their names as hitmakers, most notably co-writing and producing Britney Spears’s «Toxic». That production background shows in Miike Snow’s music, which blends glossy electronic textures with the songcraft and melodic instinct of classic pop and indie rock.
The band, often represented visually by a jackalope silhouette rather than their own faces, broke through with the self-titled debut album «Miike Snow» in 2009, anchored by the single «Animal», a song that became a defining anthem of the blog-house and indie-electronic era. Follow-up records continued to mix euphoric, festival-ready choruses with more introspective, atmospheric moments, keeping the group a fixture of alternative and electronic-pop playlists through the 2010s.
Beyond their own catalogue, all three members have remained deeply embedded in pop production and songwriting circles, lending Miike Snow a reputation less as a conventional touring band and more as a studio-born supergroup whose sound sits at the crossroads of pop, rock, and electronic music.
