About the artist
Michelle Williams is an American singer best known as one of the three members of Destiny's Child, the R&B and pop group that rose to global fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s alongside Beyoncé Knowles and Kelly Rowland. Williams joined the group in 2000, replacing earlier members, and appeared on some of its biggest hits before the group's farewell in 2006.
Beyond Destiny's Child, Williams built a solo career that leaned toward gospel and inspirational music, releasing albums that showcased her background in Christian music prior to joining the group. She has also pursued acting and stage work, including Broadway and West End musical roles.
With Destiny's Child she contributed to songs like «Tightrope» and other tracks from the group's catalog, and has spoken openly about her personal struggles with mental health, which added a layer of public advocacy to her career alongside her music.
