MercyMe

MercyMe is an American Christian contemporary band formed in the early 1990s in Greenville, Texas. The lineup features vocalist Bart Millard, keyboardist James Bryson, percussionist Robby Shaffer, bassist Nathan Cochran, and guitarists Michael Scheuchzer and Barry Graul. The band spent years building an audience through independent releases before breaking into the mainstream Christian and adult contemporary charts.

Their sound blends radio-friendly pop-rock arrangements with worship-oriented, faith-centered lyrics, positioning them among the most commercially successful acts in the Christian contemporary music (CCM) genre. Bart Millard's warm, emotive vocal delivery and the band's focus on themes of grief, hope, and redemption have given their music broad crossover appeal beyond typical church audiences.

MercyMe's signature song, «I Can Only Imagine», became a landmark crossover hit, reaching multi-platinum status and later inspiring a 2018 biographical film of the same name that dramatized Millard's life and the song's origins.
