Maya Berović

Maya Berović, born on 8 July 1987 in Malešići, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a Bosnian pop-folk singer who has become one of the leading female voices in Balkan turbo-folk and pop-folk music. She began recording professionally in 2007 with her debut album «Život uživo», produced by the Grand Produkcija label with songs written by prominent Serbian songwriters, establishing her early on within the traditional pop-folk scene.

Over the following decade, Berović released a string of studio albums, including «Crno zlato» (2008), «2011», «Djevojka sa juga» (2012), and «Opasne vode», gradually building a loyal regional fan base across former Yugoslavia. Her career took a decisive turn in 2016 when she began collaborating with the hip-hop duo Jala Brat and Buba Corelli, resulting in the hit «To me radi» and the 2017 joint album «Viktorijina tajna». This partnership modernized her sound, blending traditional pop-folk sensibilities with contemporary trap and hip-hop production, and transformed her from a folk singer into a broader Balkan pop star.

Known for songs like «Pravo vreme», «Honey», «La La La», and «Niko ne zna», Berović continues to be a prominent figure on the regional festival circuit, including performances at the Pink Music Festival. She lives between Belgrade and Vienna with her husband, Alen Dragosav.
