Matt Simons

Matt Simons is an American singer-songwriter from Palo Alto, California, who built a melodic, piano-rooted pop sound drawing on his background in jazz and classical music. He grew up around opera and studied piano before moving into songwriting, self-releasing music online and steadily building an audience.

His breakthrough came unexpectedly from the Netherlands, where a Dutch TV sync and touring helped establish his career in Europe. The Deepend remix of his song «Catch & Release» became one of the biggest dance-pop crossover hits of 2016, topping European airplay charts and going gold and platinum in multiple countries, introducing his songwriting to a much wider dance and pop audience.

Simons has continued to release melodic, emotionally direct pop songs, including «We Can Do Better» and «Open Up», maintaining a strong following particularly in continental Europe.
