Mary Gu

Mary Gu, born Maria Bogoyavlenskaya, is a Russian singer and video blogger from Pokhvistnevo, a small town in Samara Oblast. She trained in vocals from childhood and, after trying out for televised talent competitions, chose instead to build an audience through her own YouTube channel, where she posted covers of popular songs. One such cover, of the track «Безумие» by LSP and Oxxxymiron, drew significant online attention and helped establish her as a rising voice among Russian-language internet listeners.

Building on that momentum, Mary Gu moved into original material, releasing a steady stream of singles and music videos that blend pop sensibility with R&B-inflected melodies and occasional rock and rap textures.
