Mark Ronson

Mark Ronson is a British-American DJ, record producer and songwriter born on September 4, 1975, in London. He built his early reputation as a DJ in New York City in the 1990s before moving into production, becoming one of the most influential figures in bringing retro soul and funk aesthetics into contemporary pop and R&B production.

Ronson is best known for his work reviving vintage soul and Motown-inspired sounds, most notably as producer of Amy Winehouse's landmark album Back to Black, and for his own hit «Uptown Funk» featuring Bruno Mars, which became a global phenomenon and one of the best-selling singles of all time. He has also produced and collaborated extensively with artists including Adele, Lady Gaga, Lily Allen, Miley Cyrus and Robbie Williams, and co-wrote Gaga's Oscar-winning song «Shallow» with Bruno Mars for A Star Is Born.

His sound blends funk, soul, disco and pop with a crate-digger's ear for vintage instrumentation, often paired with contemporary songwriting and guest vocalists.
