Mark Forster

Mark Forster is a German singer-songwriter known for his warm, melodic pop sound and playful, conversational lyrics. Before launching his own career, he worked as a pianist backing German comedian Kurt Krömer, before signing to Four Music and releasing his debut album «Karton» in 2012, which entered the German charts.

His real breakthrough came with «Au Revoir», a collaboration with rapper Sido, which became a major hit and established the blend of pop hooks with occasional rap and hip-hop textures that would define much of his subsequent work. Since then he has become one of Germany's most consistently successful pop artists, known for an easygoing, self-deprecating songwriting style delivered in a distinctive, slightly nasal vocal tone.

Forster is also a familiar face on German television, notably as a coach on «The Voice of Germany», which further cemented his mainstream visibility. His catalogue spans radio-friendly singles and more introspective album cuts, consistently balancing accessible pop production with lyrics that lean into everyday, relatable themes rather than grand statements.
