MAGIC!

MAGIC! is a Canadian reggae-pop band formed in Toronto, led by songwriter and producer Nasri Atweh, alongside guitarist Mark Pellizzer, bassist Ben Spivak and drummer Alex Tanas. The band emerged in the early 2010s blending reggae rhythms with pop songwriting, and Nasri already had an established career writing and producing for other artists before fronting the group.

The band achieved global breakthrough with the 2014 single «Rude», an infectious reggae-pop anthem that topped charts in the United States, United Kingdom and several other countries, becoming one of the biggest hits of the decade. Their debut album, also titled Don't Kill the Magic, followed the single's success and charted highly in North America.

Subsequent releases such as «Red Dress», «Let Your Hair Down» and «No Way No» continued their light, sun-soaked reggae-pop sound, though none matched the massive crossover success of «Rude». MAGIC! remains best known as a one-song phenomenon that nonetheless left a lasting mark on 2010s pop radio.
