lovelytheband is an American indie pop trio from Los Angeles formed in 2016, consisting of vocalist Mitchy Collins, guitarist Jordan Greenwald, and drummer Sam Price. The band came together through mutual connections and social media, quickly developing a sound built on catchy hooks, jangly guitars, and confessional lyrics about mental health, anxiety, and imperfect relationships.

The group broke through in 2017 with the single «broken», a breakout hit that captured the idea of two flawed people finding connection despite their struggles. It was followed by the debut EP everything i could never say… and eventually the full-length album finding it hard to smile in 2018, which also featured singles like «these are my friends» and «maybe, i’m afraid». Collins has been open about drawing on his own experiences with depression and anxiety, giving the band’s music an unusually candid emotional core for mainstream alternative pop.

lovelytheband continued to build on this foundation with their second album, conversations with myself about you, released in 2020, further exploring themes of self-doubt, love, and personal growth. Their sound sits comfortably at the intersection of pop and rock, appealing to fans of anthemic, radio-friendly alternative music with a diaristic, vulnerable edge.
