Louis Tomlinson

Louis Tomlinson is an English singer-songwriter born in December 1991 in Doncaster, England, who first rose to fame as a member of One Direction after auditioning as a solo act on The X Factor UK in 2010. As part of the group alongside Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik, he became part of one of the best-selling pop acts of the 2010s before the band went on hiatus in 2015.

Following the hiatus, Tomlinson pursued a solo career marked by a more personal, often melancholic songwriting style than his boy-band work, frequently drawing on themes of loss, fatherhood and resilience following the death of his mother in 2016. His debut single «Just Hold On» with Steve Aoki was followed by tracks like «Back to You» and «Two of Us», the latter serving as the lead single from his debut solo album Walls, released in 2020.

Tomlinson's solo sound leans toward guitar-driven pop and Britpop-influenced rock, a departure from the polished pop production of his One Direction years, and he has been noted for close engagement with his fanbase and candid songwriting about grief and personal struggle.
