Kygo

Kygo, born Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll on September 11, 1991, is a Norwegian DJ and producer who grew up in Bergen and helped popularize the tropical house sound in the mid-2010s. He first drew wide attention with a remix of Ed Sheeran's «I See Fire», and quickly followed with original productions that defined his warm, melodic style built on tropical percussion, soft piano and airy vocal features.

His breakthrough singles «Firestone», with Conrad Sewell, and «Stole the Show», with Parson James, established him as one of the leading voices of tropical house, a subgenre he is often credited with bringing into the mainstream. His 2016 debut album Cloud Nine consolidated that sound, and he continued to refine it on later hits like «Stargazing» and «Stranger Things», frequently pairing his production with strong guest vocalists rather than singing himself.

Kygo's biggest commercial crossover came with «It Ain't Me», featuring Selena Gomez, which pushed his sound further into mainstream pop while retaining his signature tropical textures. Across his catalogue, from «Remind Me to Forget» to «Happy Now», he has continued to collaborate with a wide range of pop and R&B vocalists, cementing his place as one of the defining electronic producers of his generation.
