Kumar Sanu

Kumar Sanu, born Kedarnath Bhattacharya, is one of the most prolific playback singers in Hindi cinema, rising to prominence in the late 1980s and dominating Bollywood soundtracks throughout the 1990s. Influenced by his idol Kishore Kumar, he adopted a stage name that echoed his hero and built a career on romantic, melodramatic ballads that defined the sound of an era in Indian film music.
