Korede Bello

Korede Bello is a Nigerian singer and songwriter born on 29 February 1996 in Lagos State, Nigeria. He began performing as a child, initially going by the stage name African Prince, and started writing his own material while still in primary school. After completing secondary school, he studied Mass Communication at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism while pursuing music professionally.

His breakthrough came after he was introduced to producer Don Jazzy, which led to him signing with Mavin Records in February 2014. He rose to national and continental prominence with the semi-gospel pop single «Godwin», a feel-good, faith-inflected anthem that topped charts across Nigeria and became one of the defining Afropop hits of its era. His sound blends pop and R&B with the melodic, Afrobeats-adjacent sensibility that Mavin Records became known for.

Beyond «Godwin», Korede Bello built a catalogue of upbeat, radio-friendly songs including «Do Like That», «Romantic», «Mungo Park» and «Work It», establishing himself as one of the label's most recognizable young voices during the mid-2010s wave of Nigerian pop's global rise.
