Kingfishr

Kingfishr are an Irish indie-folk trio formed in Limerick in 2022, consisting of Eoghan «McGoo» McGrath, Eoin «Fitz» Fitzgibbon and Fionn Hodgins. They began writing and playing together while studying music in Limerick before relocating to a rural home in Doonane, Co. Tipperary, from which they have released much of their material, giving their output a homespun, rooted quality tied closely to the Irish countryside.

Their sound draws on acoustic folk instrumentation, banjo textures and warm group harmonies, blending traditional Irish folk sensibilities with a modern indie-rock energy and stadium-ready choruses. This combination helped the band build a rapidly growing live following, culminating in a high-profile opening slot for Bruce Springsteen at Hyde Park in London in 2023, a booking made through Springsteen's own selection.

Kingfishr's momentum continued with the release of their debut album, Halcyon, in 2025, which topped the Irish charts and charted highly across the UK and Scotland. The single «Killeagh», released ahead of the album, became a major hit in Ireland, reaching number one on the Irish Singles Chart and achieving multi-platinum certification. Other tracks such as «Diamonds & Roses» and «Man On The Moon» further cemented the band's reputation as one of Ireland's most promising folk-rock exports of the mid-2020s.
