Kim Petras

Kim Petras is a German-born singer and songwriter now based in Los Angeles, known for her glossy, hook-driven blend of pop, electronic, and hyperpop-adjacent production. She first gained public attention in Germany as a teenager for openly discussing her gender transition and advocating for transgender rights, becoming, at 16, one of the youngest known women at the time to undergo gender reassignment surgery.

After releasing early singles independently, Petras relocated to Los Angeles to work with producers before signing to Dr. Luke's Prescription Songs publishing company, a partnership that shaped her signature maximalist, radio-ready sound. She built momentum with singles like «I Don't Want It At All» and «Heart to Break», then leaned into darker, campier territory with the Halloween-themed EPs TURN OFF THE LIGHT, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, released in 2018 and 2019, which showcased songs such as «Coconuts» and cemented her flair for theatrical, horror-tinged pop.

Her 2019 project Clarity further established her as a distinctive voice in contemporary pop, blending sleek production with unapologetically bold, sexually confident lyrics on tracks like «Alone» and «Treat Me Like A Slut».
