About the artist
Kiesza is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Calgary who broke through internationally in 2014 with the single «Hideaway», a house-influenced pop track built around a striking one-take music video that showcased her background as a trained dancer. Before pursuing music full-time, she had an unusually varied path: she briefly attended a Canadian naval academy and trained extensively in dance and theatre from a young age.
Her sound sits at the intersection of retro house, 90s-inspired dance-pop, and contemporary electronic production, marked by powerful, versatile vocals and a strong visual and choreographic sensibility that carried through her music videos. «Hideaway» topped charts in several European countries and turned her into one of the defining voices of the mid-2010s house-pop revival, alongside further singles like «Giant in My Heart» from her debut album Sound of a Woman.
Beyond her own recordings, Kiesza has worked as a songwriter and collaborator for other artists, reflecting a broader career as a musician who moves fluidly between performing, writing, and production within electronic and pop spaces.
