Kes

Kes, often called Kes the Band, is a soca group from Trinidad and Tobago formed in the mid-2000s. The lineup is built around brothers Kees, Hans and Jon Dieffenthaller alongside longtime bassist Riad Boochoon, with Kees serving as lead vocalist and the band's most recognizable voice. Their sound blends traditional soca and calypso rhythms with rock guitar riffs, soulful vocal melodies and reggae-tinged grooves, giving them a crossover appeal beyond the usual Carnival soundscape.

Kes rose to prominence as one of the defining acts of modern soca, known for anthemic road-march style tracks built for Trinidad's Carnival season as well as for their high-energy live shows. Songs like «Wotless» became era-defining hits across the Caribbean and helped push soca further into international awareness. The band has also worked with mainstream songwriters and producers outside the genre, broadening their sound beyond strictly regional festival music.

Over the years Kes has released a steady stream of Carnival singles and full albums, remaining one of the most consistently popular live acts in the Caribbean circuit.
