米津玄師 (Kenshi Yonezu)

Kenshi Yonezu is a Japanese singer-songwriter, producer and illustrator who has become one of the most influential figures in contemporary Japanese pop music. He first gained recognition in the late 2000s producing Vocaloid songs under the alias Hachi, building a devoted online following before debuting under his own name and voice in 2012. His music blends pop, rock and electronic elements with intricate, literary lyrics and a strong visual sensibility shaped by his background as an illustrator and animator.

Yonezu broke into the mainstream with a series of songs written for major anime, dramas and films, including «Lemon», which became a massive commercial and cultural phenomenon, as well as «KICK BACK», «Pale Blue» and «Spinning Globe» (地球儀). His songwriting is marked by unconventional melodic structures, emotionally direct storytelling and genre-crossing production that draws on everything from J-pop tradition to Western alternative and electronic music.
