About the artist
Keith and Kristyn Getty are a husband-and-wife duo from Northern Ireland widely regarded as leading figures in the modern hymn movement. Since the mid-2000s they have written and recorded congregational hymns that blend traditional theological depth with contemporary melodic sensibility, aiming to give churches new songs written in the spirit of the great hymns of the past. Their best-known work, «In Christ Alone», co-written with Stuart Townend, has become one of the most sung modern hymns in English-speaking churches worldwide.
Beyond their own recordings, the Gettys have built an institution around congregational singing. They run Getty Music, a label and publishing operation through Capitol CMG, and host the annual Sing! conference dedicated to hymn-writing and corporate worship. They have also authored books on the subject and released hymnals, including a major collection published in 2025 that pairs new and historic hymns with Scripture readings.
