Keaton Henson

Keaton Henson is an English singer-songwriter, visual artist and poet from London, born in 1988. He began recording songs privately in his apartment purely for personal use, with no intention of public release, until encouragement from friends led him to share his music online and self-release his debut album, Dear…, in 2010.

His breakthrough came when BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe played «You Don't Know How Lucky You Are» in 2011, introducing his intimate, confessional songwriting to a much wider audience. Henson typically performs solo on guitar or piano, crafting hushed, emotionally raw folk and chamber-pop songs. He suffers from severe stage fright, which has led him to favor small venues, galleries and museums over large concert halls, reinforcing the deeply personal, almost private quality of his live performances.

Beyond music, Henson is an accomplished visual artist and published poet, having released a poetry collection titled Idiot Verse, and he has recorded material under the alias Behaving as well. His catalogue spans several studio albums, marked by spare instrumentation, close-mic'd vocals and unflinchingly candid lyrics about love, anxiety and isolation, placing him alongside a lineage of confessional British singer-songwriters while retaining a distinctly private, understated presence in the industry.
