KAYEF

KAYEF, born Kai Fichtner on November 20, 1994, is a German rapper from Düsseldorf whose stage name is derived from the initials of his birth name, K.F., pronounced the English way. He began writing lyrics as a young teenager around 2005 and built an early following by uploading songs to MySpace and YouTube, part of a wave of German rappers who grew their audiences through social media rather than traditional label routes.

His breakthrough came through collaborations with fellow rapper Liont, released under the joint name Kayef & Liont, including the digital albums «Sexstreetboys» and, in 2014, the charting single «Nie wieder niemand», which marked his first entry into the German charts. Later in 2014 he released his solo debut album, «Relikte letzter Nacht», which entered the German charts at number 17 with poppy hip-hop production centered on love and party themes.

KAYEF's sound blends melodic, radio-friendly hooks with German-language rap, positioning him within the wave of pop-rap artists who brought hip-hop to a younger, more mainstream German audience in the early-to-mid 2010s. Tracks such as «Ich würd' lügen», «Musik», and «Ein Jahr zu spät» reflect this accessible, emotionally direct style that has remained central to his catalog.
