Kate Bush

Kate Bush is an English singer, songwriter and producer from Bexleyheath, near London, celebrated for her singular, theatrical approach to art pop. She rose to fame at just 19 with her 1978 debut single «Wuthering Heights», which topped the UK charts and made her the first woman to reach number one with a self-written song, immediately marking her as an unconventional and literary presence in British pop.

Across the late 1970s and 1980s she wrote, produced and largely self-directed a string of albums that pushed the boundaries of pop production, blending art rock, chamber pop and early electronic experimentation with her distinctive, expressive vocals. Her 1985 album «Hounds of Love» is widely regarded as her masterpiece, pairing accessible songwriting on its first half with the ambitious conceptual suite «The Ninth Wave» on its second, and yielding singles like «Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)» and «Cloudbusting». Known for elaborate, dance-influenced music videos and famously reclusive between releases, Bush toured only twice in her career — in 1979 and again in 2014 — each documented on record.
