About the artist
Karmin was an American pop duo formed by Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan, who met while studying music at Berklee College of Music in Boston. The pair first gained widespread attention through YouTube, where their fast, technically ambitious covers of popular rap and pop songs — reworked with Amy's rapid-fire vocal delivery and Nick's multi-instrumental backing — went viral and drew millions of views, positioning them at the forefront of the early-2010s YouTube-to-mainstream pipeline.
Building on that internet fame, Karmin signed to Epic Records and released the «Hello» EP in 2012, followed by their debut album «Pulses» in 2014, anchored by the single «Acapella». Their sound blended pop hooks with R&B and hip-hop influences, often showcasing Amy's rapping and belting alongside Nick's guitar, bass, and production work; tracks like «Brokenhearted» and «I Told You So» highlighted their knack for catchy, high-energy pop with playful, sometimes cheeky lyrics. Karmin later parted ways with their major label and pursued a more independent, genre-blending direction with the album «Pulses Vol. 2» and the project «Leo Rising», featuring singles such as «Come With Me (Pure Imagination)» and «Didn't Know You». The duo eventually went on indefinite hiatus as Amy Heidemann redirected her energy into a solo R&B and rap project under the name Qveen Herby, with Nick continuing to work as a producer.
