KARD

KARD is a South Korean co-ed group formed by DSP Media, notable for being one of the few mixed-gender idol groups in K-pop. The group debuted officially in July 2017 with the mini-album «Hola Hola», after building buzz through a series of pre-debut project singles including «Oh NaNa», «Don’t Recall», and «Rumor». Its lineup consists of rappers B.M and J.Seph alongside vocalists Somin and Jiwoo, with the group’s original hidden member Youngji (also known from Girl’s Day) featured on early tracks.

The name KARD stands for King, Ace, JokeR, and HiDden, referencing a deck of cards, with each member assigned a card-themed persona. Musically, the group is known for blending Latin-influenced dance-pop, moombahton, and tropical house with hip-hop elements, giving their sound a distinct Latin-pop flavor that set them apart from typical K-pop acts of the era. Tracks like «Hola Hola» and «Don’t Recall» showcase this signature style, mixing rap verses with catchy, percussion-driven hooks.

KARD built an international fanbase early on through world tours and a strong presence outside Korea, particularly in Latin America and the United States, helped by their genre-crossing sound. Songs such as «You In Me», «Gunshot», «ICKY», and «CAKE» continued to develop their identity as a group unafraid to experiment across pop, R&B, and electronic textures while keeping their rap-vocal interplay as a core signature.
