Kangen Band

Kangen Band is an Indonesian pop band formed in Baturaja, South Sumatra. They rose to national fame in the mid-2000s as pioneers of the melayu-pop genre, a melodic, guitar-driven style rooted in Malay pop traditions that became hugely popular across Indonesia. Fronted by vocalist Andika, the band built a devoted following with songs about heartbreak, longing, and everyday romance, delivered in an accessible, sing-along style that resonated with a broad audience far beyond the usual pop-industry base.

Their breakthrough came with tracks such as «Tentang Aku, Kau Dan Dia» and «Pujaan Hati», which became staples of Indonesian radio and helped define the melayu-pop wave alongside other bands from the same regional scene. Songs like «Doy», «Kau Tipu Aku», and «Kembali Pulang» further cemented their reputation for emotionally direct lyrics paired with simple, memorable melodies.
