Kailash Kher

Kailash Kher is an Indian singer known for a powerful, gritty voice rooted in classical and folk traditions of North India, filtered through pop and rock arrangements. Trained in Hindustani classical music from a young age, he built his reputation on a raw, emotive vocal style that stands apart from the smoother playback singing common in Bollywood, drawing comparisons to Sufi and qawwali traditions even when performing straightforward film songs.

He rose to national fame with «Allah Ke Bande», a track that became a cultural phenomenon well beyond the modest film it originally appeared in, and cemented his position as one of Hindi cinema's most recognizable voices with hits like «Teri Deewani» and «Saiyyan».
