Julio Iglesias

Julio Iglesias is a Spanish singer and songwriter born in Madrid in 1943, widely regarded as one of the best-selling and most internationally recognized Spanish-language artists in music history. Before turning to music he studied law and played goalkeeper for Real Madrid's youth academy, a path interrupted by a car accident; his recovery period is often credited with drawing him toward songwriting and singing.

His career took off in the late 1960s and exploded through the 1970s and 1980s as he became a global pop and easy-listening icon, singing fluently in multiple languages including Spanish, English, French, Italian and Portuguese. He built a reputation as a romantic crooner whose smooth, understated vocal style and orchestral, ballad-driven arrangements made him a crossover success far beyond the Spanish-speaking world, with hits such as «Con la Misma Piedra» and «Me Olvidé de Vivir» alongside international collaborations, including the duet «To All the Girls I've Loved Before» with Willie Nelson.
