Jukebox the Ghost

Jukebox the Ghost is an American power pop trio formed in Washington, D.C. in the mid-2000s. Pianist and vocalist Ben Thornewill and drummer Jesse Kristin met at George Washington University and were later joined by guitarist and vocalist Tommy Siegel, rounding out a lineup built around bright, piano-driven melodies and interlocking vocal harmonies. The band eventually relocated to Brooklyn, New York, which has remained their home base for much of their career.

Musically, Jukebox the Ghost sits at the intersection of pop, indie rock and classic songwriter traditions, favoring hooky choruses, playful arrangements and a theatrical, almost showtune-like sense of melody that sets them apart from more guitar-centric indie rock peers. Thornewill's classically tinged piano work is often the band's signature element, giving songs like «Victoria» and «Under My Skin» their buoyant, singalong quality.
