JP Cooper

JP Cooper, born John Paul Cooper in 1983 in Middleton, England, is an English singer-songwriter known for his warm, soulful voice and a sound blending pop, R&B and folk-tinged songwriting. He built his early career through several self-released EPs before signing to Island Records, where he put out the EPs «Keep the Quiet Out» and «When the Darkness Comes».

Cooper's breakthrough came through his feature on Jonas Blue's dance-pop single «Perfect Strangers», which became a global hit and went platinum in the UK, introducing his voice to a mainstream audience far beyond his own releases. He followed this with «September Song» in 2016, his first solo top-10 hit in the UK, which showcased his knack for tender, melodic storytelling over understated production.
