Jowell & Randy

Jowell & Randy are a Puerto Rican reggaeton duo formed by Joel Muñoz Martínez, born 1982, and Randy Ortiz Acevedo, born 1983. Active since the early 2000s, they became known for an aggressive, party-oriented «perreo» sound and rapid-fire delivery that made them a fixture of the genre's mainstream growth in Latin America and Spain.

Before establishing themselves as a duo, they were part of the short-lived collective Casa de Leones alongside J King & Maximan and Guelo Star, one of several groupings that emerged from Puerto Rico's reggaeton scene in that era. Over the following years they released studio albums, mixtapes and a large catalogue of singles, becoming one of the most recognizable duos of the genre's classic and later trap-influenced periods.

Songs such as «Anaranjado», «Perriando» and «Se Acabó la Cuarentena» reflect their catchy, dance-floor-oriented style, often built around playful, sexually charged lyrics and hooks designed for clubs and parties. The duo is noted for touring milestones, including being among the first reggaeton acts to perform in Monaco and the first reggaeton duo to perform in Australia, underlining their reach beyond the traditional Latin market.
