José Feliciano

José Feliciano, born José Montserrate Feliciano García on September 10, 1945, in Lares, Puerto Rico, is a virtuoso guitarist, singer and composer who has been blind since birth and moved with his family to New York City as a child. He became one of the most influential Latin musicians to cross over into mainstream American music, renowned for his intricate acoustic guitar playing and warm, distinctive voice.

Feliciano's international breakthrough came with his flamenco-tinged reinvention of the Doors' «Light My Fire», which showcased his ability to fuse Latin, blues, jazz, soul and rock into a singular style built around his signature acoustic sound. He further cemented his global legacy with the self-penned holiday classic «Feliz Navidad», one of the most enduring and widely performed Christmas songs of the modern era.
