Jhay Cortez (Jesús Nieves Cortés), also credited as JHAYCO, is a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter and producer who spent years working behind the scenes for major reggaeton and Latin urban stars before launching his own solo career. As a writer and producer he contributed to hits for artists such as Daddy Yankee, Wisin & Yandel, Don Omar and Tito «El Bambino», building a reputation as one of the genre’s sharpest songwriting minds.

As a solo artist, Jhay Cortez emerged with a moodier, more melodic take on reggaeton and Latin trap, distinguished by his airy falsetto and hypnotic, minor-key production sensibility. Tracks like «No Me Conoce» and its remix with J Balvin and Bad Bunny turned him into a global star, followed by further hits such as «Medusa» and continued high-profile collaborations across the Latin urban scene.

Signed to labels including Universal Music Latino alongside his own House of Haze imprint, Jhay Cortez is now recognized both for his distinctive artistic voice and for the songwriting craftsmanship that shaped some of reggaeton’s defining records.
