Jesus Culture

Jesus Culture is an American Christian worship movement and music collective that grew out of the youth ministry at Bethel Church in Redding, California, founded by Banning Liebscher. What began in 1999 as a small youth conference, drawing around 500 attendees, expanded over the years into a much larger movement encompassing conferences, a music label, and a network of worship leaders and musicians associated with the contemporary worship genre.

The collective's sound blends pop and rock influences into an anthemic, arena-scale style of congregational worship music, marked by soaring choruses and an emphasis on live, communal performance captured on many of its recordings. Key worship leaders associated with Jesus Culture, including Kim Walker-Smith, Chris Quilala, and Melissa How, emerged from the same Bethel youth group that launched the original conferences and became central voices in the movement's recorded output.
