Jessica Mauboy

Jessica Mauboy is an Australian pop and R&B singer born on August 4, 1989, in Darwin, Northern Territory, of Indigenous Australian (Kalkadunga) and Timorese heritage. She first gained national attention as the runner-up on the fourth season of Australian Idol in 2006, which launched a recording career that made her one of Australia's most consistent pop hitmakers of the following decade.

Her debut studio album, Been Waiting, arrived in 2008 and produced the number-one single «Burn». She followed it with further releases including Get 'Em Girls in 2010 and Beautiful in 2013, blending pop, R&B, and dance-leaning production with strong vocal performances. In 2016 she released The Secret Daughter, the soundtrack to the television series of the same name in which she also starred, and it became her first number-one album in Australia.
