Jesse®

Jesse Rutherford, performing solo as Jesse®, is an American singer, rapper, and multi-instrumentalist best known as the frontman of the indie band The Neighbourhood. Born in Newbury Park, California, he began as a child actor before moving into music, first performing in local bands and short-lived duos during his teenage years.

Alongside his work fronting The Neighbourhood, Jesse has pursued a distinct solo path under the Jesse® name, exploring a genre-blending sound that moves across pop, rap, rock, and R&B. His solo output leans into unfiltered, often confrontational songwriting and a restless, experimental production style, reflecting a broader artistic identity than the moodier alt-rock he is known for with his band.

Jesse also runs the music publishing company Therapy Records, extending his role in the industry beyond performing. Across his solo catalog and band work alike, he has built a reputation as a genre-hopping, provocatively candid artist unafraid to shift sound and image from project to project.
