James Morrison

James Morrison is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist from Rugby, Warwickshire, known for his soulful, gravelly voice and acoustic-driven pop-rock sound rooted in blue-eyed soul traditions. He rose to prominence in 2006 with his debut single «You Give Me Something», a hit across Europe, Australia, and Japan that reached the top five in the UK and number one in New Zealand.

His debut album Undiscovered topped the UK Albums Chart and established him as one of Britain's leading singer-songwriters of the era, earning him the Brit Award for Best British Male in 2007. His follow-up, Songs for You, Truths for Me (2008), reached the top five in the UK and topped the Irish charts, driven by singles «You Make It Real» and his widely praised duet with Nelly Furtado, «Broken Strings».

Morrison has collaborated on stage with artists such as Jason Mraz and Nelly Furtado, and wrote «Quello che dai» for Italian singer Marco Carta, which debuted at number one in Italy. He released his third album, The Awakening, in September 2011, continuing his run of emotionally direct, melodic songwriting built around his distinctive raspy vocal delivery.
