James Marriott

James Marriott is a Brighton-based English indie-rock and alternative musician who first built an audience as a commentary YouTuber and Twitch streamer before establishing himself as a songwriter. He launched his music career with the debut single «Slow Down» in 2020, followed by «Him» and the EP No Left Brain in early 2021, marking his shift from online personality to recording artist.

His second project, Bitter Tongues, released in June 2022, featured earlier singles «Gold» and «Sleeping On Trains» alongside new material, further defining his introspective, guitar-driven sound. He built toward his debut album with singles including «Romanticise This» and «Don't Blame Me», releasing Are We There Yet? in November 2023, an album that captured themes of anxiety, self-doubt, and coming of age set against melodic alt-rock and pop-rock arrangements.

In June 2025, Marriott released his second studio album, Don't Tell The Dog, featuring singles like «I Don't Want To Live Like This». His music blends confessional lyricism with accessible rock and pop hooks, appealing to a fanbase that crossed over from his online content into a dedicated music following.
