About the artist
IZ*ONE was a twelve-member South Korean-Japanese girl group formed through the survival show Produce 48, a joint project between Mnet and Japan's AKB48 franchise. Managed under a consortium led by Off The Record Entertainment (with CJ ENM and Swing Entertainment involved in the project), the group debuted in October 2018 with the mini album COLOR*IZ and its title track «La Vie en Rose», which became an instant hit thanks to its pastel, fairy-tale visual concept and warm, orchestral pop sound. The lineup mixed nine Korean and three Japanese members, a rarity for a K-pop act of its scale.
Over its two-and-a-half-year run, IZ*ONE built a catalog defined by lush, cinematic pop production, moving from the ballroom elegance of «FIESTA» to the fantasy-tinged «환상동화 (Secret Story of the Swan)» and the more mature, atmospheric «비올레타 (Violeta)» and «Panorama». The group also promoted actively in Japan, releasing material such as «好きになっちゃうだろう?» and building a dedicated fanbase across both countries, a reflection of its cross-national origin and marketing strategy.
IZ*ONE disbanded in April 2021 once its contractually fixed activity period ended, closing out with the single «환상동화» era and the album releases that preceded it, including tracks like «Lesson» and «평행우주 (Parallel Universe)». Despite its relatively short lifespan, the group is remembered as one of the defining acts of the late-2010s K-pop survival-show era, and several members went on to notable solo and group careers afterward.
