Irina Allegrova is one of the most prominent Russian pop singers, born on January 20, 1952, in Rostov-on-Don. She began her professional path as a member of the vocal-instrumental ensemble «Электроклуб» in the second half of the 1980s, sharing the stage with artists such as Igor Talkov and Viktor Saltykov before launching a solo career. Her voice, a rich alto capable of both theatrical drama and playful irony, became one of the defining sounds of Russian estrada.

The 1990s marked the peak of her career, when she released a string of albums written largely by Igor Nikolaev and Igor Krutoy, composers who shaped much of the era's pop landscape. Songs such as «Угонщица» and «Императрица» turned into anthems of the decade, blending melodrama, cabaret theatricality, and dance-pop arrangements.
