Иванушки International (Ivanushki International)

Ivanushki International is a Russian pop group formed in Moscow in 1995 by composer and producer Igor Matvienko, one of the architects of the post-Soviet Russian pop scene. The trio format built on close harmony vocals and catchy, melodic songwriting became a defining sound of late-1990s Russian pop, with tracks like «Тополиный пух», «Тучи» and «Снегири» turning into generational hits still played on radio today.

The group has weathered significant lineup changes. Founding member Igor Sorin left in March 1998 and was replaced by Oleg Yakovlev; Sorin died later that year. Yakovlev himself departed in 2013, with Kirill Turichenko stepping in, and Yakovlev passed away in 2017. Despite these losses, the band continued performing and recording.

Today the lineup consists of Andrei Grigoriev-Apollonov, Kirill Andreev and Kirill Turichenko. Ivanushki International remain a fixture of Russian pop nostalgia tours and continue to draw large audiences, their catalog blending romantic ballads with upbeat, dance-inflected pop that helped define the sound of Russian mainstream music at the turn of the millennium.
