About the artist
INNA, born Elena Alexandra Apostoleanu, is a Romanian singer, songwriter and dancer who became one of the most successful dance-pop artists to emerge from Eastern Europe in the late 2000s. After early attempts at a pop-rock career under the stage name Alessandra, including two unsuccessful entries for Romania's Eurovision selection, she rebranded as INNA and shifted decisively toward electronic dance music.
Her 2009 debut single «Hot» became an international hit, topping dance charts and establishing the sound she would build her career on: euro-dance production paired with catchy, rhythmically driven vocals often sung partly in Spanish or English to appeal to Latin American and global club audiences. Her debut album, also titled Hot, mixed trance and electro influences and set the template for a run of singles that made her a fixture on European and Latin American dance charts, including «Up», «Caliente» and «Yalla».
Over the following years INNA released a series of albums and singles blending EDM, pop and Latin-influenced rhythms, collaborating with electronic producers and DJs across Europe. She built a reputation as a consistent hitmaker and live performer, becoming one of the best-known Romanian pop exports internationally and a key figure in the country's dance-pop scene.
